OPITO Rigging Stage 3 and 4 AquaTerra Health and Safety Training.
The standard identifies the basic competencies and safety training required by the UK offshore Oil Gas industry for personnel involved in rigging and lifting operations, generally referred to as Riggers. It explains how competence shall be assessed and certified for Stage 3 or Stage 4 assessment. Candidates will need to have successfully completed the OPITO Stage 1 Rigging course within the last 2 years and provide a fully completed and valid logbook based on the OPITO Stage 2 Rigger Standard workplace requirements. OPITO Launches New Transition Standard for Offshore Wind Workers North American Windpower.
With the renewables industry particularly offshore wind set for huge growth, this launch marks an important step forward in enabling workers to move across the energy sector with greater ease, helping to protect jobs and retain the safe and highly-skilled workforce needed to deliver a net-zero economy, says John McDonald, CEO of OPITO. Collaboration is key to creating a multi-skilled and diverse workforce and our continued engagement with industry, trade unions and the offshore energy workforce is crucial in enabling us to better understand the requirements of the renewable energy sector. The associated training course will equip learners with an understanding of the key health and safety aspects of offshore wind operations, and the basic skills required to travel and work safely, as well as teaching them how to respond to emergency situations.
